Metal Works Fabrication

Initial Client Problem

Our client was an enterprise in the metal works and fabrication industry. We received an inquiry from them to build a Hydraulic Power Unit (HPU) to drive their metal bending machine. The target was to bend the CS ST400 plate with a thickness of 16 mm and a length of 1600 mm. Our client had limited background knowledge on the bending machine and its dies; therefore, there was only a small amount of data they could provide for us as a reference.

Our Solution

We gave a solution by collaborating with our client to build a powerful and handy bending machine. With a systematic approach and precise engineering calculation based on dies theory, we advised them in designing dies to perform optimally with our HPU in bending thick metal plate. Then, we built a powerful Hydraulic Power Unit (HPU), driven by a 7.5 kW motor. This HPU had a maximum tonnage of 200 tons at a pressure of 250 bar and was equipped with an electric control panel that accommodated dual-speed features on its cylinder. Safety was one of our concerns in making heavy equipment with high pressure. So, we also built this HPU in a solid design with a compact valve stand from Rexroth for safety reasons.
